Rope Access Readiness And Back To Work Blog

Alpha Industrial Abseiling

Updated: May 21, 2020

At Alpha Industrial Abseiling we are always striving to stay one step ahead when it comes to Rope Access and all aspects of Working at Height safety. We also like to keep our visitors on all of our platforms informed and kept up to date on bulletins / HSE updates. AIA, like most other companies have been busy in the background and looking at the best ways to keep our operatives, our clients and the general public safe when we enter the "new normal."

Rope Access in general, is in a good position when it comes to workplace social distancing. Along with the new standard of PPE (masks, latex gloves underneath standard gloves, and personal hand sanitiser) We are also looking at full face visors that are a standard fit accessory to our Petzl Industrial Rope Access helmets. All of our Rope Access equipment has went through a rigorous disinfectant procedure as per our manufacturers guidelines. Upon starting a new work scope our operatives will have a full Rope Access man set and will be responsible for the daily decontamination process and safe segregated storage to avoid cross contamination.

Operatives working rope lines can be rigged at 3m between the next operative to maintain the 2m distance rule. We will (as we always do) look at rigging our ropes for rescue which eliminates the safety supervisor coming into contact with an operative in the unlikely event of a rescue scenario.

AIA have attached below the guidelines from the NFRC and along with our updated Health and Safety policy we believe that with a few adjustments we can continue to complete our tasks both safely and compliantly.
